11 Months Old

As you can tell Austin is getting more and more active. Even just taking this picture was a task every time I put the ball in the chair he would roll it to me then clap for himself. At 11 months he is really soaking in everything around him. He is our little explorer, analyzing everything around him: opening and shutting drawers, cabinets, and doors, switching the lights on and off, and turning the knob on his humidifier. It seems like everything he sees us do he then has to try himself including talking. He is not using many words on his own except for momma, dada, hi, and bye but he mimics lots of words push, all done, and shut to name a few. He is learning to master the sippy cup. I dropped one of his feedings and forced him to take formula from a sippy cup and he did. Other foods he is learning to like include avocados, graham crackers, oatmeal, and grilled sandwiches. He also had a taste of some sweets lately, cookies and rice crispy treats. I think he is going to have a sweet tooth like his mommy. Austin has been entertaining us lately by barking when he sees a dog, giving Gizmo hugs, which looks more like he is just laying on top of him but he has learned not to pull his hair, and bear crawling when he gets to a hard surface (he gets up on all fours). He also does this even if the texture of the floor changes like he has to climb over. It is too funny! His loves include books especially touch and feel ones, his swing, things that make noise and sing like his favorite stuffed dog Scout and playing ball (he throws it then crawls after it and throws it again). He has been to the park a few times now and loves to swing, slide, and watch the big kids play. He also is getting in two more top teeth. A down side to this last month is that he got RSV. He was on breathing treatments and cough medicine for about a week but we finally got it cleared up.
